Content Specification

Features derived from the themes: hydrology, transport, population, industry and utilities, physiography and land cover.
Key features will include:
  • Hydrology: rivers, lakes, reservoirs and open water;
  • Transport: all transport networks and related infrastructure (e.g. roads, tracks, trails, railways, bridges, harbours, airfields);
  • Population: All populated areas and associated features. Toponyms and administrative boundaries.
  • Industry and Utilities: industrial installations and power stations.
  • Physiography: cliffs, contours and spot heights.
  • Land cover: cropland, grassland, scrub, trees, bare soil and wetlands.
Geographic reference products are also created during crisis situations, in rush mode, where such products have not been generated beforehand. These products aim to provide basic information about the area.

Scale, Area

  • Scale: 1:25,000 – 1:500,000.
  • Area: 245 - 96500 km²
(Dependent upon users’ requirements and size of AOI.)

Default scale is 1:100,000 (Area covered on A1-size sheet = c.50km x c.50km)

Output formats

Standard ouput formats are:
  • Digital maps (jpg, tif, pdf) incl. world-file and KMZ-file.
    • Standard print size: DIN A1;
    • On demand print size: DIN A3.
  • Vector data (shapefile).

Accuracy

  • Geometric accuracy: 5 pixel for 1m data, up to 1 pixel for >100m data.
  • Thematic accuracy: > 75%

Delivery-Time

Within 30 working days after satellite data reception.
