The GMES Emergency Response Service generates its products using a distributed network of partners highly skilled in satellite images processing and analysis.
This implies that even if GMES Emergency Response Service products are public and freely available (they are generated in the framework of a publicly financed initiative such as GMES), there are precise rules that must be respected when using them to generate other derivative products.
An intuitive example to understand such limitations is the use of vector information layers provided by the GMES Emergency Response Service in combination with other sources of information to generate new products (e.g. digital maps). This type of use is not forbidden, but it shall follow precise rules described in the License Terms and Conditions.
As a general rule EndUsers and National user Focal Points shall keep in mind that the author of a product generally is the owner of the so called Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
associated to the products itself and its full denomination should be explicitely quoted when using such products in a new derivative products.
